On the weekend of June 23-34, the LA Rodeo had a Rummage Sale at the Long Beach Lesbian and Gay Pride offices.  Thanks to a hard working group of volunteers and generous item donations from many a chapter member, a grand total of $1,100 was raised!

Welcome, Welcome Welcome!  I’m Miss Spur LaJingles and I am so fabulously excited to be a part of this new undertaking of the L.A. Rodeo Association.  The intent of my column will be to provide you with some news you can use, but probably a lot more that’s just fun to read.

As the time that would have been the 2007 LA Rodeo has come and gone, I have been hearing some false rumors on why this is so.  I thought it might be good if there was something “straight from the horse’s mouth.”  The truth is there are a number of items that created the “perfect storm” that kept us from having a rodeo this year.

Back on April 1st, David Smith organized a Rodeo School to help those already and aspiring cowboys and cowgirls learn the trade.  People from San Francisco, Palm Springs, San Diego, and of course Los Angeles were on hand to give and receive quality instruction at a beautiful facility out in Chino Hills.
