Details: State Board Meeting and LA Royalty Competition

The GSGRA State Board meeting will be held on July 25, 2009 in Long Beach and is hosted by the LA Chapter. In conjunction, the LA Rodeo will be holding it's Royalty Contest the same day. We do not have a "host hotel" but recommend you stay at the Holiday Inn at the Long Beach Airport. For convenience, those flying should fly into Long Beach instead of LAX.

Friday night - 7pm (ish) - Please join us at Club Ripples (5101 E Ocean Blvd. Long Beach, CA 90803) for a welcome social - casual dress. A great time to make new friends and catch up with old ones. There is a beach party that night with a BBQ. $10 entry fee covers both.

Saturday 7:45 am - Royalty contestants and judges should report to the Long Beach pride offices (1017 Obispo Ave. Long Beach, CA 90804) for the interview portion of the competition. This is closed to the public.

9:00 am - gathering time for the state board meeting. Continental breakfast will be served (there is also a Mickey D's for Bruce within walking distance). Please get with Jabby if you have agenda items or questions regarding the meeting itself.

noonish...Catered lunch will be brought in for $10 per person. Please email Jim Gant (jimmyn562@aol. com) if you wish to be included in lunch. There will not be extras ordered.

We will have cookies and coffee for the afternoon. We will be working diligently to complete the agenda by 2:00 pm.

Royalty Contest information: Club Ripples - suggested $4 donation to support LA Rodeo at entrance. Please join us for a great evening of entertainment, competition and lots of drinks and fun!!! We will be sashing new royalty, saying thank you to Ms. Patsi for two great years of service and having many, many additional performers throughout the evening!

4:45 - contestants, judges and entertainers should be at Ripples for a meeting and preparation for the contest.

5:20 - judges in seat

5:30 event begins - please make sure you have lots of dollar bills for those hard working entertainers! Western attire requested!

Sunday Morning - 7am-1pm - LA Rodeo Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser at Rick and Brians Cafe (Formerly Magnolia Cafe) in Long Beach. $10 ticket gets you stuffed and helps us out as well. Please see either Jim Gant, Scotty Shadix or Greg Brown for tickets.
